DS wifi prob - weird

EDIT: I've already explained this in response to your comments but seeing as these go ignored, I'll edit the description to stop smart-ass and know-it-all comments.

This router (D-Link DSL-G604T) is incompatible with Nintendo products i.e. the Wii and DS. The only way to make it work is to download the Australian firmware and flash it to the router. I however decided to get a Nintendo USB adapter but having to keep my computer on all the time to use WiFi on my Wii and DS seemed a silly solution. Now I have a LiveBox from my ISP - Orange and I have full compatibility with my PSP, DS, Wii, Xbox 360 and Nokia N82

PSP picks up wifi but DS doesn't.. weird. D-Link DSL-G604T router in same room, less than a mater away, no special settings except WEP which even when entered in DS manual setup doesn't work. No hidden SSID, well you can tell theres nothing special as the PSP picks it up fine and recognizes its WEP protection.

thats becuz go to your router settings and PUT THE NINTENDO DS on your router then it will be able to find it...

The router I used (DSL-G40T or w/e) is incompatible with all Nintendo WiFi products. The only way for it to work with it is to flash an Australian firmware which supports Nintendo hardware. Seeing as this method doesn't have a perfect track record, I upgraded my internet account with my ISP and received a router that is compatible, works without a hitch for all my WiFi products.

Thats because your router isnt compatable on the DS, but it will be compatable on your wii

it doesnt work because your wirelessconnection is guarded by a firewall and deignated computers can only access it and your ds is and wii are acting as non deignated

I know plenty about my router and firewalls, if you'd read my other comments you'd see why it doesn't work. If your talking about allowing per MAC address then thats already been tried plus I disabled the MAC allow list so any device can connect (I still have WEP). My wireless beacon has full signal and my SSID is NOT hidden so there is no reason (except incompatible hardware) why my wireless network wouldn't be found within a few feet of the router.
