VICTORY :D 50k is such a sweet number, I love it.

"Where is home for you?" he asked her, hoping he would not offend her.

As she lowered herself to the seat cut into the wall where the window looked out over the rear of the house, Stephanie shook her head. "Nowhere in particular," she told him. "I had been wandering for a while when that pack found me."

Cole wanted to remind her that the wolves who had taken them were no pack at all, but the words sat heavily on the back of his tongue, unsaid, and in the end he swallowed them down. "You're a rogue?"

A small smile touched her face, and she looked at him. "If that is what you want to call it. I never really put a word to it. I have been on my own for a few years."

Cole did not ask why, or where she had come from. They were not yet comfortable enough with one another for him to ask such personal questions. "Do you like it?"

Stephanie laughed then, shaking her head. "Not so much anymore."

Understandable, really, given what had happened. Cole chose not to remind her that the wolves in the wood had taken three from a pack, not just rogues. "So what will you do now?"

Another shrug lifted and dropped her slender shoulders. "I haven't decided," she admitted. She turned to glance out of the window, seeming to admire the view for a few moments, even as she went on to say, "Your pack have been good to me." Quietly, she added, "You are very lucky."

Very well done. I am only approaching 36,000 and I am off work the next couple of days. Very unlikely that I will make the 50k but I will write as much as I can. I am very happy with my story though so I am happy that I tried NaNo.
