A Country Where Everybody Wants to be a Nurse

The phenomenon of doctors becoming nurses is unheard of in other nations. This is only happening in the Philippines! How many stories have I heard wherein working professionals with ample salaries have left their jobs in favor of becoming a caregiver or a nursing aid? The Filipino has lost dignity (dangal) because he has sold his soul for money and the American/European dream. He will swallow his pride that he was once a doctor, issuing orders and respected by the whole world, in order to stroll the streets of New York and London, but this time, as a pitiful slave.

sir, you are happy that US and UK are halting the entry of Filipino nurses in their countries!? wow! that is so selfish of you! i understand that there is a problem with the people in this country that they are so self absorb with nursing and all, but that statement from you is just wrong.

there is no oversupply of nurses. have you been in a public hospital? did you notice what's the nurse to patient ratio? 1 nurse is to WARD, when in fact, the ideal scenario would be 1 nurse to 4 patients. Don't blame nurses for poor healthcare quality. Blame the Government because they can't see this reality.

I dont believe a bit of what he said in the States the Hispanic get the lowest job, no pilipinos take the job they do. the pilipinos new generations are producing top technical students and complete college. pinoys in America are in competition in academic field. he is wrong

I couldn't sense a hate message but a longing and an outcry of a Filipino who's longing for his country to be patriotic. it is therefore true that the only way to go global is to love this country.  i can sympathize with that coz i myself experience racial prejudices. No I believe that it is not anger but of a rebuke, the truth hurts.

you know what? before you say anything, look at the mirror first. You cant blame those who took nursing but blame the nation's system first. ask yourself what you've done to help the country before you conclude that majority of the people who enrol in nursing courses are pathetic
