This how to video is a tutorial on how to use Windows Easy Transfer. Microsoft has created Windows easy transfer around the time of Windows Vista. Windows Easy Transfer is a very useful program if used correctly. They made it so people will transfer all their files and settings from Windows XP to Windows Vista, kind of a incentive to upgrade windows. It can even transfer files you have installed, if you are transferring to the same operating system. This video shows how easy and quick it is to go about this. There is also the option to put a password, just in case you put it on the network or on a flash drive and you are unsure if someone else will get a hold of it.

  • I have a question you might be able to answer: How do you transfer an OS to a new drive? I'm thinking of purchasing an SSD and replace one of my two HDDs that's not being used and instead, transfer my OS to the SSD for a faster booting time.

  • I sent you a message with a link.

  • @MrVincent101291 I'm afraid the best way to do this is to install the windows on to the new SSD. Copy pasting files doesn't let it work properly if at all. However, using easy transfer it will be very easy to transfer all the files. Put the CD into the drive and press install, then select custom not upgrade when you have the choice, then choose the drive you want to install it on (the SSD), and you will have windows installed on it.

  • Awesome video! Very simple and highly effective. Just a positive feedback - Would have been better if you showed that the user data actually transferred fine and everything went to its respective place. AGAIN, THANKS A LOT.

  • @jassy0479 Hehe, well I was kinda limited with computers at the time (this is the first tutorial I made) and I only used one computer for the whole thing.

  • Great video!! Thanks alot ^_^

Run Windows Backup to External and create Windows Bootable Recovery Disk.

The backup image will restore on any size disk. If you're using home edition, you may need to goto Programs and Features from control panel. Click on Turn Features on or off. Enable Windows Backup... Its been a while since I played with home edition. So You could always goto microsoft "Ask" support from forums.

  • the censored folder might be a collection of porn videos . . . XD

  • I am using a cable for xp to windows 7, but it keeps telling me there is no connection. I have installed easy transfer and the cable is plugged into both the computers. Plz help someone!
