I came on youtube as I wondered what a MFT gait looked like...EECKS, that looks aweful, my mountain horse is a smooth glide no matter how fast he is racking, even riding bareback without a bridle..................

This same horse would be very smooth if he was slowed down just a tiny bit, just because you see a MFT getting a bit rough in the showring when pushed for speed does not mean that's the only way he can move! That's like saying you wouldn't want a pole bender because all the weaving would make you seasick, you're seeing one aspect of the horses talents..it's not the only way he can ride. This horse in the video just happens to be talented enough to be a great pleasure horse AND a show horse.

that looks MISERABLE to ride. Bounce, bounce, bounce. Who cares if he is pretty with a bone jarring bounce like that?? The show folks are favoring flash over smoothness and the ride that really MAKES the breed. I have physical problems and was told I would not be able to ride, but thanks to the Foxtrotter breed, I can again. This horse--he may be a show winner, but I sure couldn't ride him.

Sorry das sieht ja net sehr toll aus. ich bin ein riesiger gangpferdefan , aber ich mag eigentlich nur tölt /pass . fox trott! ich bitte dich das ist zwar ne gangart aber ich sehe es halt nicht so. bischen unbequem und der kopf des pferdes geht immer von oben nach unten. es sind sowieso..slow gait und rack sind gangarten die eigentlich fast wie tölt sind, aber nur fast . wäre doch tol wenn alle pferde tölt könnten:)
also ich finde es überhaupt nicht schön(die gangart)
