Rep. Bachmann joined Bill Hemmer on America's Newsroom to call for the extension of the current tax rates so no American faces a tax hike. She also discussed her bill, HR 5382, introduced on May 25, 2010, to freeze the salaries of civilian federal employees.
We should also start looking at the give away to native americans, descendants of slaves, and welfare recipients.

I'm alright with pay-freeze.
Suspend their bonuses too. We cannot afford any axtra's.
Though I prefer a freeze on government new-hires.
From there, we can take a look at eliminating unnecessary departments, bureau's, cabinets, etc.
Federal employees have been immune from the rising unemployment.
In order to "grow jobs", we must stem mass-immigration that has overwhealmed the job market, revoke NAFTA, CAFTA & The SPP.
NONE of these things are in the best interests of the American people.

This "freeze"is laughable. After jacking up their wages to over 2x what the private sector makes,Barry The Great decides to freeze their pay for two years??? Come on... let's live in LiteralVille

What a hypocrite. According to Citizens Against Government Waste.."Members of the Congressional Tea Party Caucus may tout their commitment to cutting government spending now, but they used the 111th Congress to request hundreds of earmarks that, taken cumulatively, added more than $1 billion to the federal budget." As their "leader", Bachmann also received $250,000 in farm subsidies between 1995 and 2006. $50,000.00 in 2008 alone. Talk about a Welfare Queen!

@Perseiden2 - Bachmann "pretends" to represent Minnesota, and her actions affect every citizen, regardless of where one lives. Remember American Government classes? duh.

Cities nation-wide are faced with laying off large numbers of fire-fighters and police officers.
Why? Because their union bosses refuse to make pay/ benefit concessions.
It's time to give the same ultimatum to federal workers: take pay/ benefit cuts, or face substancial lay-off consequences!
At this point in time: we can't afford the pay-scale.

I've been upset that there doesn't seem to be anyone discussing how much lower tax rates have to be to stimulate business. Reagen had the top at 28%, to me an unfairly high rate. Republicans should also be mentioning our insane additional 35% business tax, much higher than China's! Stop the defensive posture. Instead of getting into discussions about whether to make rates permanent, say that's not the important issue, but that the Dems.' trying to catch every falling person destroys everything.

I will tell you this though. 1.5 million new immigrants arrive into the USA every year. Where are their jobs ? Is there 1.5 million new unemployed every year ?
