That's right they aren't but what max was saying in this interview is that the other disciplines that involve them such as freerunning and tricking are just as valid. He was not saying they are valid as a part of parkour but as seperate thing.

No it doesn't only if it's labeled as parkour, tricking as a discipline in itself is a beautiful art that has nothing to do with parkour.

when you were on about getting funny looks.
i live in spain and i always get little grumpy old spanish men yelling at me that im going to hurt myself. and none of them listen when i try to explain what it is that im doing and that im confortablee with the jumps i make. its kinda annoying. parkour is really unknown in spain.
