  • savage sucks get a ruger

  • @Adam32Luttrell I'll be sure to get right on that...

  • if you used a heavier bullet would it have done more damage? Or is it that the faster the rounds go the more explosive potential?

  • yes, a heavier bullet (say 100 grn softpoint) probably would have taken out the entire watermelon with one shot. The lighter bullet is more frangible and explosive upon impact.

  • That is one weird looking watermelon.

  • @Adam32Luttrell ruger sucks get a browning

  • @Adam32Luttrell Yep I have a mini-30 it rocks!!!

  • is that thing sittin on a syrup tub? lol

  • Good impact Vid. I shoot 2 different .243 a tika ( preT3) and a HR super light.

I use 57gr Horn V max at 3900 Fps ( chronied) ion the Tike. It groups 3 into.228

" 100 meters. Took a coyote, front on at 30 meters. . pILL DID NOT EXIT. Rag dolled the dog and left a real good hide. The superlight shoots 100 gr. at 2840 frps.. good for jumpers.

  • @TROOPERfarcry but, the heavier bullet will compensate with a larger pressure wave, resulting in explosive damage. It's pretty cool how ballistics is one of the few earthly sciences left that leaves plenty left to study and observe.

  • @IllinoisCoyoteHunter No - respectfully disagree. A heavier bullet would have had more penetration and LESS explosive. The extra penetration wouldn't have helped on the watermelon.

  • One dead watermelon. R. Lee Ermey would be proud.
