  • This has been buggin me for years...is that the same Ruben Garcia, as Ruben Garcia-Nova who ran the first Mexico Busch race?

  • Awesome, I've been looking for this for a while. Had he actually hit a spectator, it would have definitely tarnished the way we speal of Riverside today. I still wish it were here.

  • @PsychedelicGuy yes sir

  • This incident is one everyone won't regret. The wall itself is what needed work. Whoever reconfigure the track in 1969 should have considered the possibility of a car losing control and running into the grandstands.

Sadly, this would be the second to final race of Bobby Allison's career until his near fatal accident at the next race at Pocono. Riverside went away because of California land development and that it lost some popularity, as did Ontario in 1980.

  • @toomuchtoomuch How so? back then people didn't take fitness seriously, find the post where somebody shows Dick Trickle taking a SMOKING BREAK. It was a different era for one, two the technology. You didn't have custom built jacks that get the car up in the air in two pumps or less, either. Besides NASCAR is still slow compared to F1 and why use jacks when air jacks are used in just about every other series? NASCAR dumbs down technology for no logical reason.

  • wow

  • PsychadelicGuy, No this isnt the same Ruben Garcia.

  • They were talking to Bobby Allison... and a car went into the grandstands. Go figure! Restrictor plates were needed at Riverside!

  • Very little sense of urgency with the pit crew. Boy, times have changed.
