Jean-Luc Godard's subversive foray into commercial filmmaking is a star-studded Cinemascope epic. Contempt (Le Mépris) stars Michel Piccoli as a screenwriter torn between the demands of a proud European director (played by legendary director Fritz Lang), a crude and arrogant American producer (Jack Palance), and his disillusioned wife, Camille (Brigitte Bardot), as he attempts to doctor the script for a new film version of The Odyssey.

This guy's a worm. No wonder these guys surrendered so easily in WWII.

If Bardot didn't look that good, no one would have ever heard of her. I like her stance on animal rights, but other things about her are disturbing. Like her being married to some far right bastard and unprofessional comments allegedly made concerning Catherine Deneuve. Bardot sounds petty and might be some form of poser. Deneuve turned out to be the real actress and better looking too.
