Senator Chris Dodd continued his Rehabilitation Tour across Connecticut this morning when he hosted a very controlled symposium about Banking and Housing in Connecticut. Congressman John Larson of the First District introduced Mr. Dodd.
Mr. Dodd introduced his guest of honor, Shaun Donovan, the new HUD Secretary of the Obama administration. It was virtually a mutual admiration society! First Donovan praised Dodd, and then Dodd praised Donovan. Meanwhile, John Larson became cheerleader for a day, popping up on numerous occasions, applauding until his hands hurt!
After a lengthy lecture, the floor was opened to questions from the invited crowd. A summary of questions would include a generic begging for more Federal Dollars to help fund everything from property appraisals to public housing vouchers.
In the old G. Fox & Company Department Store, an appearance from the new Santa Claus brought out the wish lists and some of the old kids.
Only this time the toys cost millions!
I am optomistic moving forward that The Floater swirls away like the Tidy Bowl man to never never land.
