@shapolfab I think what I probably meant to say was that 'better than today' (which was the third single from Aphrodite and was written by Nerina Pallot and her husband Andy Chatterley) was a faliure, as it only charted at no. 67 on the UK singles chart. If the song 'Aphrodite' (also written by Pallot and Chatterley) has been released as the third single from Aphrodite then it would have been MASSIVE.

@7039TS You're propably right about Parlophone, it's strange though, she should have more control over her releases. Having said that Aphrodite was far from being a failure! It got to N°1 in several countries and was in Top 5 album charts pretty much everywhere in the world except USA of course...(she got a N°1 in the Dance Billboard charts with "Get out of my way" I think)

@shapolfab Also Kylie herself has said that she was dissapointed with how X turned out, and she said she felt let down by parlophone after the faliure of Aphrodite. Kylie fans even boycotted parlophone because they chose please stay as the fourth single from light years instead of your disco needs you, due too it apparently being 'too camp' despite the fact that it was released in other countries. If they won't let Kylie choose her own songs then she should leave Parlophone and find a new label.

@shapolfab I can't blame the pet shop boys and Mylo for feeling the way they do. I think that Parlophone is to blame here, it's not Kylie's fault. It's obvious that Parlophone chose the songs / singles that go on her albums and that they won't let Kylie choose the tracks herself, which explains why several AMAZING songs recorded for X did not appear on the album or were simply just b - sides, and why Kylie has not had a successful album since Fever. They are ruining Kylie's career by doing this.

X was a LOUD album full of crazy sounds and beats. Aphrodite is more mellow, like Body Language. This song would've fit well on Aphrodite

Like a drug" almost didn't make it, it was rejected first then accepted. There was obviously a pair of ears missing somewhere, Someone at EMI Parlophone should have been fired!!! You would thing that after more than 2O years in the business she can decide what goes and what doesn't!

Apparently she had song writtten and submitted for "X" from from Hot Chip, Sound System, Goldfrapp, Pet Shop Boys, Boy George&Amanda Ghost, Rob Davis, Mylo to name only a few! None of the songs written by these guys ended up on the album!!.

You could consider that it was intended for an album that never was. The cancer got in the way and it never came to pass. There are several other Scissor Sisters tracks which have yet to leak.
