Cigarette advertising was banned in Britain in the early 1970's but advertising for Tobacco and Cigars was allowed into the 1990's. This ad is from around 1987.

Was it a St Bruno ad that had the girls chasing the man (mesmerised by his tobacco smoke I assume) At the end ot the ad, the man jumps on a train and selecst one the girls from the pack who is lifted onto the train by the man's minder.

Two of my uncles smoked pipes in the 70's. It was a wonderful smell

Wow really..this is what I love about youtube,I talk to the director. I remember this ad as a kid..Norways lovely eh?

These days it would probably be fake snow in a studio hangar and cgi background.
