  • Thank you! This opera is unjustly neglected and often demeaned. True, some ear-splitting, insignificant passages, but more than compensated by some rapturously gorgeous music --- Fran's entrance, Paolo's arrival, the stunning and deeply moving Act III, and the final duet. It's really quite a good musical evocation of Dante. Sure would love to hear Sandra Radvanofsky champion this beauty.

  • Can't wait to see this wonderful opera, which has some of the most beautiful music imaginable. The love duet is one of the most exquisite. There is a dvd from the Met with Domingo and Scotto, and recordings with Olivero and Kabaivanska. The orchestration is sublime.

Very interesting interview, sure that Gavin and Barker will be brilliant.

Would be great to see "L'amore dei tre re " again......but how about Giordano's "La cena delle beffe"? Unjustly neglected opera.
