I've been too much layering recently. Time to get a bit minimalist.

The loops are being recorded and controlled with my monome and a Max MSP patch I created called 'MOLFOMI" (MOnome Looper FOr Multi-Instrumentalists) and the output from Max is being recorded into Logic Pro 9 via Soundflower.

The beatboxing and vocoding were both processed with Tim Exile's excellent new "The Mouth" running in Native Instruments Reaktor 5.5

The initial drum samples are played from a Roland SP-404, and the MIDI controller used to pitch the vocoded bass over the beatboxing is a C-Thru Music 'Axis', which is excellent and if you're into alternative controllers, or like me you find the conventional piano layout illogical, then definitely take a look at these.

And lastly, why did I sit on the floor?

I don't know. I was playing Saz and Didgeridoo... sitting on a cushion on the floor just felt right. Man I wish I had my Oud or Sitar here... they would have been great for this.

  • very cool. Its obvious you have a lot of fun here :) Keep on. What was your base for looping? I meen what did you use to loop channels? Is it a hardware or any software digital audio workstation? Keep cool :)

  • @MentalBlue It was a Max MSP patch I built, controlled by a Monome, but after some problems of things going out of sync etc. and then some good conversations with Tim Exile I think I'm going to try and rebuild the same patch in Reaktor.

  • really impressive the vocal effect when you dropped out the digi was quality. how was that done?

  • @demongroovemusic With 'The Mouth' by Tim Exile, running within Native Instruments Reaktor

  • Here is a guy who just KNOWS his stuff. Wildly impressive skills, and most interesting combinations of sounds and gear - and true, Oud and/or Sitar would go great with the overall sound. But just crazy in so many levels.

  • @MarctheDarc Wow! Thanks very much for the extremely kind and encouraging words!
