Scientology despises psychiatric community because they are the ones who have to deprogram indoctrination. Scientology is based on the indoctrination of their members, not only to get more money but also to never to question.

Like any cult, if any member has family or friends that question Scientology, they are ordered to "disconnect" from them totally. Other cults like Jim Jones, Branch Davidians and Heaven's Gate all practiced this "disconnecting".

They hate psychiatry because when Hubbard's 'Dianetics' came out as a self-help course it was the psychiatric establishment who were the first to rightfully point out how damaging and demented it was; hence Hubbard early on perceived them as a threat to the organization and vehemently shared his schizophrenic paranoia with his brain-washed followers which they still hold today.
