Spooky clip from the excellent documentary, "No Maps For These Territories" (available for purchase here:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?link_code=ur2&tag=nullablog-20&... ) where William Gibson discusses the realities of existing in our "mediated" culture.

  • you had a connected moment

see now a year later i find this connection[from the other side of the world]

    then was 'realtime'[now] for you

    now is realtime for me

god lives in the 'real, living moment [free of time ]because he only is in the realtime ,in this living moment[now]

god conects your time and my time in real time all the time

the living loving one ness, sustaining all of us in real time to live [to live to love]even then as now

  • stuff like this gives me some confidence that perhaps technology and the internet may be taking humanity closer to god. though the supposition that we need to be any closer than we already are may be the real problem.

  • Has anyone heard/read anything more about the film adaptation of Pattern Recognition? Or any allusions to his next novel?

  • I don't know anything about the movie, but Gibson has been posting little bits of his current writing project to his blog:

  • What's up with the car's windows, it looks like the car is going in reverse and forward at the same time.

  • How do you know this??? Do you have any proof?

  • It's called paranoid schizophrenia.

  • the director employs a number of strange slightly off-putting effects like that throughout the doc. highly recommended for both the gibsonisms and the visual style.

  • he is one of the 3 great writers.

    1. Dashiell Hammett

    2. William Gibson

    3. Irvine Welsh

  • think we are at an accident scene

there are people needing us to help

most will, emergencies bring us closer, and that closness is good

of course we all get sick of people [thats why im in my bedroom]

yet i know enough through my lonelyness that people are needing to become closer

the system came up with aids, thats when the world shut down, our lover could kill us

they subverted comunal closeness to get control over us with us or against us

a neo con sort of con-trol

  • u can get it on netflix
