The Buckhorn Saloon and Museum has been a San Antonio tradition for over 128 years. A young, bright entrepreneur by the name of Albert Friedrich started the saloon in 1881. Of course, back in those days, many traveling off the ole dusty trail, didnt have much money in their pockets. So Albert began to accept horns, antlers, mounts and pelts in exchange for a free beer or wiskey from his bar. From then on the Buckhorn grew to become one of the worlds most unique collection of horns and antlers. Patrons both young and old marvel at the collection of over 520 species from all over the world many specimens over 100 years old! You will enjoy a piece of South Texas history preserved for all to see for years to come.
