  • God bless Dixie

  • God bless Dixie and Erin go Braugh!

  • @Ultraroyaliste The Normans were responsible for the trouble in Ireland as the Saxon lords had very little power after the Normans invaded & occupied England. King's changed all round but the lowly Saxon kept our mutilated language for their use. The family name pre-fix "Fitz" is a Norman invention.

  • @hfceasyccs There's a good reason the lowlanders sided with England. They were Anglo-Saxons. That part of Northumbria, a Angeln Kingdom in the North. It has come to me that my own maternal grandfather's line was in fact one of the son's of Ralph Neville who fell out of favor with Elizabeth I. Ralph was Mary's jailor but fell in love with her and hence his own doom. 3 brothers changed their name and came to the colonies.

  • what a great song

  • I wonder if the Irish brigades that fought for the CSA knew that the CSA was covertly supported by the British Government! (not The British People who mostly supported the North, Abraham Lincoln was a hero among the British working people).

  • i have a lot of respect for the men who wore the grey they were outnumberd there equitment was nt as good as the unions yet an al they won nearly every battle an managed to fight on for 4 years. lee an jackson proably 2 of the best generals the states ever had. i take pride in knowing that great general stonewll jackson family were origanly from my home town/area of loughgall Ulster
