Very helpful video. I setup a Haupauge 1600 video card like you did in this video and it works great. However, I then added a 2nd identical tuner and now neither of them work. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the video, much appreciated! Like most sensible people I'm giving this a go with VM first :) One question though, why do you have so many tuners? Surely you only need one... What am I missing? With the internet going the way it is you wont need any very soon.

Hi does anyone know where there are much more basic beginner guides or help with Mythtv as this is way above me. I have a security camera plugged into my video capture card and mythtv has zoneminder within it. I really don't know what to fill int he fields in mythtv ...there are too many terms i don't know. I have tried the zoneminder forum and i am not getting very far

Thanks heaps!
Great to see an informative tutorial on MythTV.
Although I've set it up quite a few times now, I should have (on hindsight) looked into the hardware setup FIRST.
The idea I think is 'if it's broke, don't bother fixing it early'. The setup will be broken if you decide to go with upgrades.

@MadStylezuk Right now my favorite tuner is probably the HD HomeRun but my most useful tuner is the HD-PVR.

I would recommend you look at XBMC or Boxee for just streaming between computers. They are much more simple and will be able to handle everything you need.
