This podcast is a small segment from a session of the short sharp training. Each month I run an online training session for clients that subscribe to my SHORT SHARP TRAINING. So, this is a small sample so you can see what the online training is like.

Each month we cover a different topic. This month the topic was how to set up drawings for building project. The actual training was over an hour long and I demonstrated how to set up 6 Floor plans, elevations and sections.

  • it might seem complex for just a site plan, but the origianl movie for this, and the orginal online session, lasted for an hour and we made several drawings from the same plan. having all the information on on layer with several classes is efficient when using wall styles, symbols and viewports, especially when you need to make changes.

  • seems a bit complex to use all those classes. I rarely use more than a handful of classes and the only layers are the various scales used I find it better to do a new drawing for such things as site plans otherwise if you put everything on one drawing you end up with quite complex files that take a lot of clicking to manipulate.
