@LasseLMN This is from the opera Turandot.Turandot was a cold,cruel princess.If a prince wanted to marry her,he had to answer correctly to three riddles or he would be executed.Tartar prince Calàf fell in love with her and accepted her test.He passed,to the surprise of the princess and the crowd,but Turandot begged her father to stop the betrothal.Calàf couldn't bear seeing her so distressed and he offered her an out.If she learned his name before dawn,he would forfeit his live,thus freeing her.
