  • @abigredrock vinnie colaiuta's ability and ideas on the drumset are unsurpassed and will remain so for quite some time.

  • @grooveey

I just gave him props, dude. He's obviously a great drummer. I just think Greb is more soulful.

    PERSONALLY, I like him better.

    Get over it.

This is a stupid conversation, and I'm done with it.

  • @therealshugjr dude...what are you, 12?? The guy has played on some of the most popular songs and has played and originated some of the most popular and sampled beats over the last 25 years....fact is fact

  • @grooveey

    Sorry your majesty.

He's awesome. I just like Benny Greb's groove better.

Can you throw away your tampon now?

  • @therealshugjr its funny that you say his playing is just "good" and needs more soul considering Robin is one of the most saught after R&B session drummers and was recruited by Prince at age 14 to play on the Bangles record "Walk like an Egyptian" and "Manic Monday" he also played the beat for Soul to Soul "Back to Life" and played the beat for Snoops "Gin and Juice".

  • this guy's a douchebag!!

  • The playing is good, could have more soul... but overall, most drummers today struggle having even this much groove.

Besides that, the fact that he doesn't use his pinky drives me nuts, lol.

  • @abigredrock ... you know , I thought Vinnie was pretty average with Jeff Beck as well ... obviously he had his moments where he did the Vinnie stuff , but I thought his shuffles were pretty average sounding

  • RM = good player. Boring? No, it's called "pocket-grooving" with "rhythm(s)," or "funky" rhythmic sticking patterns, which is anything but, & no doubt influenced by Gadd, & perhaps also Garibaldi, Mike Clark, Steve Jordan, Marottas, Erskine, Harvey Mason, & others no less. Come n git u sum. Just the fact he's playing next to his Gadness Gadzilla-godd, tells you all u need to know, yo.

  • That said by DC & Weck, too more monster world-class heavies & probably 2 of the only small crowd that can even keep up with VC. & Vinnie is a much-sought after session & road monster world-class player in demand by most jazz, fusion, rock, & pop artists, he's all over recordings of each & most styles. So that statement = un-factually opinionated rubbish.
