"The best way of acting a part successfully is to be it", spoken by master actor, Jeremy Brett, portraying Sherlock Holmes. He gives a magnificent performance that is not only powerful, but most touching as well to his many loyal admirers. As we all know now, the great man himself was extremely ill during the filming of the 'Memoirs'. Jeremy's performance as the 'Dying Detective' is seared into my memory. I wish to thank Jeremy, for all the strength, courage and love he showed so many people throughout his life. In my eyes, he has no equal, and he shines constantly as a reminder to me to hold myself to a higher standard as a person. He is ageless, timeless, and continues to raise us up even now. If anything be the true measure of a man, Jeremy truly set the measure himself.

As always, this video is dedicated to our beloved, Jeremy.

  • this video makes me cry! it's the wonderful and emotive coupling of the music and the clips. Brett's acting in this episode was just so fantastic and it just saddens me more to know he was ill at this point...

nevertheless RJDoll2, this video is absolutely amazing and i'm in love with it :) thank you for posting !

  • WOW! My most sincere thanks, xAngelMousex!! :)

Jeremy was out of this world in this, I know. What a stellar performance. I'm happy we agree. Yes, terribly ill he was, however, it didn't stop him, and that says a lot in my opinion.

Many thanks again! Much appreciated.. ^_^

  • Culverton Smith was one of the best bad guys in the sherlock holmes canon. He's my second favourite after Professor Moriarty. When I first watched this episode I hated smith so much! he went see holmes not to help just to tease him before he died. But holmes of course was too smart. Your tribute 2 this episode is awesome I love your taste in music, it really helps capture the evil force that was Culverton Smith

  • Thank you, princessdianaislove! :)

What a wonderful comment. Oh yes, Smith was a real baddie to be sure. Jeremy is so splendid, "three days without food and water is one thing..."

I'm very happy you liked it, and once again, thank you, I really appreciate it! ^_^

  • Thank you for this sssplendid new video! What should I say again? I can't find words - like darling HellaPostor said, and I only can repeat other darlings. Wonderful. Thank you for sharing.

  • Very very moving. Thank you again x

  • wonderful - makes me want to watch my DVDs yet again

  • excellent!

  • A real treasure, thank you.

Such a incredible power of acting. Love so much Jeremy in this episode - because beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

  • Jeremy Brett was dying since the moment he was diagnosted with maniac-depresion that was his main problem - we had one great actor with similiar illness in my country and belive me tjat it was sometimes mor terrible than cancer because there is no cure which would stop just make it less paintfull and distructive nothing more. So poor Jeremy had no change to stop it.

  • really :(

  • You won't know if you don't ask. That is not being a moron.

  • Thank you!

  • Hello my friend! I still found this video somewhat difficult to watch, having lost someone dear to a slow disease, but in the end I enjoyed it quite a bit! The dark music was perfect for the film, and Jeremy Brett's performance was really poignant. I think your videos would make him proud. I hope you are well. Warm greetings from the Finnish summer! :)
