  • look boy, it doesn´t matter what your rank says or the dojo you belong to says about your level, or in how many clases you get a fifth or tird kyu, remember if you don´t have the recognition of the oficial and japanese organization like the Aiki kai, your rank means nothing, i´ve been uop to training for about 8 years, and you and I know perfectly that what you get out of this martial art at the point you are is completly useless in the streets or even in a friendly and boyish confrntation.

  • well 8 years must bea real long time so i respect ur word art all, but still i disagree, first, my sensei doesnt believe in ranks, hw believes in what you get from aikido...and well i "fight" with my friends a lot and i understand u cant use wrist graping techniques always but i do use them when the time is right cuz ive learn bout human body...and bout street fighting well believe me i dont know where you train but it does works i know some1 that was atacked by a crazy driver with a knife so...

  • This Aikido Master is Alfonso Longueira.

  • @ArkitektongKolokoy LOL Definitely NO . That will be a sad experience :D

  • Nice, but punches of uke was really funny. Folks , I fought with boxer and can say that his punches was really FAST and short (his hands moved back). You can't use this techniques against such punches, you can't use even irimi nage ! I had 4 years of aikido experience, but after I studied karate kiokyshin for 2 years , I understood how you can use aikido teqniques - only with punches and kicks. You must strike your rival and after he gets shocked you can go closer and use your aikido .

  • Will that be useful facing Tyson?

  • @aiki3d oh there are plenty of arts like tai chi and iaido that are not realy for combat but they are still good arts a... but the thought of aiki being use in modern combat is just funny

  • @SanSuMartialArts You make a very good point. Aikido is the peaceful art born of a brutal and deadly art. One certainly could adapt Aikido for combat though, wouldn't you agree? Otherwise, if you could not, woudn't it cease to exist as a martial art?

  • combat aikido lol im sure the next video will be vegitarian hunting then budhist warfare... aikido is not a combat art end of story

  • Aikido to me is a great system . I am on a less traditional aikido route with less slow paced gradual style and more on real world techniques that you can use faster combining elements of judo , jujitsu , karate , kung fu and even tai boxing . I have learned more in my first class than with the previous aikido style

  • @TheRealUnderherfeet

    totally agree

  • @TheRealUnderherfeet

How good you think you are depends on who you are fighting with, aikido IS usefull as long as you fully understand it, but i know it is very slow : /

I believe that if combat was allowed in aikido, students would learn WAY faster...but there isnt so :P
