The music starts after 21 seconds. It is with great respect for composer Alan Silvestri that I present this alternative version of Contact. Music by Vinicius Calvitti © 2004 (all rights reserved)

I only do these experimentations for practicing purposes. It is NOT an attempt of disrespecting the original work that I praise so much!

  • The face morphing is quite spectacular. This is an example how technology can help tell the good story. And enhance it to the levels beyond our imaginaton.

It is Universe, you know. Even if we are too busy with our work just to look up to the sky and see it. It's still out there.

  • @qzzq the film's trying to say more that religion and science should be able to co-exist without conflict bewteen them all the time.

  • I have read the book and watched the movie as well. Both are excellent, and present different takes on the themes. I LOVE the music; it makes the whole thing even more brilliant. @qzzq: Personally, I am agnostic (or maybe atheist, haven't made up my mind yet) but I think the "religious mumbo jumbo" actually enhances the philosophical counterpoint in the film. But that's just my opinion...

  • i will say one million times the word "beautiful"

  • mildly passionate

  • I've seen this movie, or at least a few parts of it. But from what I've seen, it's good. I still havn't seen the begining though.

  • Vou gravar este momento na minha mente para todo o sempre.

  • This one has some brilliant moments. Still I think, this is one of Alan Silvestri's best scores ever and absolutely unsurpassable. Your version has a lot of harmonic changes and few rests, which sounds it a bit unquiet to me... maybe I would have brought in a touch of Thomas Newman... :-)

  • Cool stuff! Parts of this film are very good, too bad the religious mumbo jumbo spoils it. Love the music! :)
