Pride and Prejudice - Dawn (Dario Marianelli)

After seeing the movie "Pride and Prejudice" and loving both the film and the music, by Italian Composer Dario Marianelli, I ended up buying the Piano Solo Book. All the music in the book is exquisite. Here is the first piece "Dawn" which introduces the main theme.

Wow, is it really 4 years since I put this piece up?

I get so many requests for the sheet music. It's available from any good online store like Musicroom or Amazon. Please buy the music if you like it and support composers and their music.

Practice each hand seperately to get them automatic. Then try slowly at first..it will get better in time. I find it's best to learn 2- 4 bars at a time until mastered. The mistake a lot of people make is that they just try to play through the hole piece, without really learning each part.

absolutely breathtaking, and so calming. i've both read the book and seen the movie and i have to say, this song and the soundtrack altogether really captured the spirit of the book. also, really talented pianist. =)

@Gae41 Hi, i agree with you, that's how i learned to learn a music at my first lessons of piano long time ago. i am so happy that i can play this piece without errors now..i play it every time i go to my parent's. And thanks for that i had such a great example to follow :D). i like your playing with proper pauses, i mean with a proper tempo, since i find it difficult not to speed up as the music reaches its climax..you keep it just right, on any piece.

am learning this myself and as i have been teaching myself the piano and am getting on well with this piece. can you give me any tips for using two hands. i find it so hard to concentrate! well done btw!
