The reason this "punk sounds so funky" is that the Clash were actual musicians. When they thrashed on their guitars they were playing chords. If you were to delve a little deeper into their catalog you would find a lot of things that surprise you. Their influences were many and varied. One of the benefits of being a middle aged guy is that I got to see them live twice. RIP Joe. You are missed.
