Really useful tips, I learned a lot TY !! I also like the song at the start:)

Wtf is wrong with Inkscape, first I can only select one character and not the whole text and now I can't use the intersection... this is BS

Nice video, thanks!
I also experienced the same behavior to have the letters as separate paths. So I had to combine them, and then to apply the Path -> Dynamic Offset.
Thanks.

I can only select one character at a time and not the whole text so can't create the dynamic offset.
What am I doing wrong??

If you create the text, then change it to a path (Ctrl-Shift-C) or Path->Object to Path, you should be able to double click the text and all the characters should be part of a single path object. The only way to separate them is to do a Path->Break Apart by accident.
Anyway, if they are separate paths for each character you may be able to create a single path out of them by using Path->Combine. Then do the dynamic offset. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for that, the Path > Combine methods works.
I then used Path > Simplify to show the nodes so they can be edited.

Path->Simplify actually will reduce the number of nodes (sometimes you may want that, but it will alter your text slightly). You can get the nodes visible by either double clicking on it or selecting it (single click) and then selecting the node tool on the left toolbar (or hit F2). Glad it worked for you.

that is one awesome font too! Do you know whether it's free?

I think the font was Baekmuk Headline. Although when I search for it, it appears to be a Korean font. (?) I dunno, I think it was part of my ubuntu default install. - sorry for the late reply - didn't see this one.
