Great videos. You're right about that slightly bendy out-of-tune E-string. Remember, it was McCartney and Harrison on the guitars and Lennon on the bass (and sax) on this tune. Search around YouTube and you will find an isolation mix of Lennon's bass. It's very punk rock.

julianoazL is quite right. because of the mix on the White Album, it is hard to hear, but there is a discernible semi-tone bend on the E. it just sounds different becuase we are hearing julian's guitar on our faces. now, there may be a point to be made about how much j. is bending there, but not bending is NOT an option if you want to do what George is doing.
