  • There is no one account of Pandora, but Hesiod's is the most pessimistic and well known. The box (jar) did not belong to Pandora, it was one of the two that belonged to Zeus. The other contained blessings. According to Hesiod, the Pandora herself, makes women a curse on most men, but wealth mitigates the effects. Various gods gave her the attibutes of grace, beauty, cruel longing, cares that fatigue men, shameful mind and deceitful crafty nature.

  • Why do psychoanalysis enthusiasts appear either manic or withdrawn? Or is this true of most people?

  • I adore Kathryn Harrison. Brilliant. So glad this was posted. So brutally honest and yet aware.
