The video was taken during an airboat ride in the swampy bayous 45 minutes from New Orleans. Other than the noise (ear protectors were provided), it was an enjoyable sun-set tour of the wetland where alligators, frogs, bugs, eagles, and other creatures carved out their existence. The 12-foot alligator in the film was not too interested in greeting tourists in a noisy airboat. Apparently, he (the gator) was eyeing a female near by. • I'm from Louisiana (I also still live here), I think it is very stupid of him to grab it. I live on Bayou Manchac, and a much smaller one was able to turn around and bite my friend when he grabbed the tail. It was really quick too.

  • @VFXalways

I don't doubt that alligators are quick and agile. I could only assume the guide knew what he was doing.

Come to think of it, what if the alligator had dragged him off the boat? None of us would have been able to operate that boat !!!

  • I WANNA PET IT!!!!

... which the guide did, but then he knows the alligator's temperament better than a lot of us.

  • I'm also from Louisiana and I enjoy watching alligators. I looked at your website / blog and found it interesting. I just wish I could read all of it. Too bad I can't read Chinese. Anyway, someone mentioned the movie "In The Electric Mist" on your website. It was filmed in my home town. It was fun seeing celebrities and watching some of the film making process. Anyway, this is a good video. If you ever return to Louisiana, I HIGHLY recommend visiting Avery Island. It's absolutely beautiful.
