Brad Sweet surivives this multiple impact crash as his car goes flying! Brad is able to walk away and continue racing with the help of his HANS Device and other safety features
@DJprofessork72 I probably should have clarified. Had the HANS device been invented/developed 10 years prior, Dale would have been wearing one if NASCAR wanted the drivers wearing one. Dale was a hardcore traditionalist, but he was also in favor of promoting his sport and supporting NASCAR. Sure NASCAR has some stupid rules here and there, but if the drivers want to race in NASCAR, they HAVE to follow the rules, especially safety rules.
@fixitman21 I don't think he would have...JD McDuffie died at the Glen in 1990. Stan Smith almost died at Dega in '93 from a Basilar Skull Fracture. Earnhardt was a traditionalist to the death, he would have rather retired than wear one.
I would recommend them for anything past V8 Sprints (305 on up) where the peril is legitimate. It's not that important for things like Street Stock, Hornet, etc.
@thespainisharmada He races with Kasey Kahne Racing in Sprints
