If you've ever had the frustration of trying to teach someone how to back up with a trailer then this is what you want them to see. I have created this video with the basics and some soothing background music to save everyone the anxiety. Then its up to you to take them to a quiet parking lot with some straight lines and just refer to the points in this video and I hope it helps. For more info on boats visit iboats.com
Tried to post a video response, but no go, today. Here's a simpler hint for backing a trailer:
Use the mirror technique, just as you said. Then simply place your hand at the bottom of the wheel, and move your hand in the direction that you want your trailer to go, in relation to your mirror. It works! Try it!

Thanks Taftster
I have not used the bottom of the wheel technique but it will work fine. When learning it is good to know a couple different ways and pick what works for them. Once they understand how the trailer pivots around the wheels and how long it takes to react then they've got it. Any time they get in trouble the can always pull ahead a bit and start again.
