Six years after in-vision was brought back to CITV, the strand had lost its studio facilities at ITV Central, Gas Street, Birmingham, which they had used since 1998. CITV would move to Granada Studios in Manchester and out-of-vision continuity was brought back, which has remained ever since.

Here we see Andy Jaye providing the final in-vision links from CITV's studio set at ITV Central. After this, Andy, Laura and Swag toured around the UK to present CITV from locations of the latest and newest shows each week throughout the summer holidays (as seen in the promo). The team suddenly disappeared in September, without an announcement of their departures.

  • are you sure it isn't August 2004 when CITV had its final link

  • I'm sure it's about late July 2004, because they went on touring around those new shows (as seen in the promo) over the summer holidays. And they were no cross overs back to it's main studio.

  • It was end of July / beginning of August with that CITV tour at Drayton Manor (probably with the last amount of the invision buget left) after which the IVC did appear to be pre-recorded which then the following week it was back to out of vision again and filled wall to wall promos and idents.

I asked a mate of mine what happened to the presenters, he relplied its gone back to the 90's voiceover style. Shame really as I prefered the IVC to the Steve Ryde era which was dire.

  • Interesting to see there was that small acknowledgement of the departure at the end, despite being very small. I believe the studio, which CITV shared with Central News, was being converted into two smaller studios as the Nottingham studios were being closed down and Central News East would to Brum. Ironically now they are back down to just using one studio again, with the other mothballed. Also later this year Central's transmission dept would close which would make the slot difficult to do.
