@harke55 way to do your research harke55. The AEV bumper/tire carrier is one of the most advanced setups on the market. It's $1500 for God sakes. Do you really think they didn't think of that when they were designing it?

Tire is NOT mounted to the tail gate. The entire weight of the tire is on the frame.
It is just hinged with the tail gate to open with the factory latch.
