Our effort to make even more illustrative VIDEO is to make majority of the people simply understand the innovative and highly affordable Solar Water Heater and make them learn the simplest way to store the heat energy of the sun for everyday use in any part of the world, where there is at least few hours of Sunshine.
Everyone knows if one puts anything under the sun, it starts getting hot slowly irrespective of the ambient temperature. It can be freezing cold or extremely hot, the free energy of the sun goes wasted unless it is tapped and stored.
The 25 degree inclination of the absorber panel helps the water rise to the barrel by its self and this system works as full passive system, where as the flat black pipe collector has a limited use.
The distinction of this innovative Solar Water Heater and the rest of the solar water heater lie in the fact that it requires a very little technical skill and can be assembled by almost everyone even in the remotest part of the world.
The polythelene black HDPE pipe being lighter can be transported very easily, and the Plastic Barrel a light weight item too. The absorber base can be made with cement mortar also if required.
Similarly with simplicity and economy for thermal gain of more than 35 degree Celsius it can also create a big avenue for power generations through closed cycle engines.
This economic and light weight HDPE solar can be installed in and around the trekking routes of Annapurna and Everest trek trail, and thousands of tourists can enjoy the hot solar shower easily without destroying the Firewood of that region, which in turn helps to retain the green, a very suitable alternative to enhance the beauty of the nature.
This Video is further elaboration on the entry to GE Challenge ecomagination 2011 submission video "Powering Your Home'', worldwide competition for possible collaboration and funding from GE for a huge sum for investment around the globe.

  • I am back in Guatemala and my architect and plumber are VERY interested in doing this project. The plumber has been collecting parts for the last few months since I showed him the video last trip, so I'm hoping we can start on this in March or April when I have the funds! We will do it on the roof of the Atitlan Arts Design Studio I am working on right now. Can't wait!

  • Wonderful videos... thank you so much. Can't wait to try it here in Guatemala!

  • It's a very good idea, but I don't think it's only for the poor. Also, the diagrams are nicely done, and easily understood.
