@sky0725 It's about what is on the surface, and what, if anything, lies underneath. About the hopeless struggle some people fight for authentic expression, about living only for the eyes of the observers without any self determination, without any real desire, without will. It's about people irreversibly scared out of their skin.

I like that- it sounds good. I would say that this is a film that you have to see more than once to understand it.

@sky0725 part of it, from my 3rd viewing, is how other's may have an influence on us initially but as we delve deeper and deeper into that person's being we find ourselves more and more disappointed with how similar/ordinary/human they are.

Well, I have never seen a movie quite like that before......
Can't say for certain that I understand the movie.
I'd put Persona in Bergman's Top 3.

@bigtoe512 I would too. I remember first time I saw Persona several years ago, it blew me away and became one of my all time favorites imidiatelly after first watching. And during the years I watched Persona about 7, 8 times more.
