wow.....
-
that not a snake its a worm :D
-
perhaps it would work better if it had bigger amplitude and/or bigger wave length in it's waving motion
-
Locomotion could use improvement.
-
More like worm movements, snakes should move from side to side.
-
But does it blend?
-
1Q. wy is it having a spasm?
-
and it will electrocute as well...
-
waste of time lol

I really like this but I think your problem may just be simple grip, did you coat the bottom of the segments with anythin? try sticking elastic bands to the bottom. Must be heavy on the power aswell with all thos servos lol

Yes you got it spot on there!
Power... about 10-15W maybe?

This is an awesome robot! good job, but have you ever though its more like a catapiller?
Jeremyc56 4 years ago
Yeah!
It was build with the intention of building a snake, but it turned out that it's more of a catapiller, you're right!
That's what we call 'emergent behaviour' ;-)

Is it actually learning how to climb, or is it just spasming over the obstacles by accident? :) Just curious, not trying to make a dig.

It's just spasming over the obstacle!
But it kind of adapts and the environment and its topology give feedback to the motors of the biomorph, so it behaves differently for different environments
