Pokemon Red / Blue - No Stone Evolving Guide

I was just going through pokemon blue version for a bit of fun and since there isn't much info or examples of the whole evolving pokemon that need evolution stones (such as jigglypuff, clefairy and eevee) without actually using an evolution stone thing I thought I'd make a video. This is actually quite convenient because there's only a limited number of moon stones in the game. Anyways here's what you do.

Get the pokemon you want to evolve that normally needs the stone and make sure it's close to leveling up. Then put the following pokemon in the second position of your party.

Exeggutor for Moon Stone
Onix for Water Stone
Growlithe for Thunder Stone
Psyduck for Leaf Stone
MissingNo. for Fire Stone

The MissingNo. is not recommended though seeing as I remember it screwing your graphics up if you use it in battle (correct me if I'm wrong here). But anyways go into a wild pokemon battle sending the pokemon you want to evolve out first. Then switch to the relevant pokemon that was placed in the second position in your party and defeat the opposing pokemon. When your pokemon levels up from defeating the opponent it will evolve as if you'd given it the stone.

I tried this on yellow and it didn't work so Nintendo probably sorted it on yellow unless my yellow version was a later version or something. Anyways hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching.

what special was in this video? just give moon stone to jigglypuff and it evolves into wigglytuff!

it doesnt matter what level it is and you can evolve it much more simplier way that giving stones to them and battling...

There is only a limited amounts of moon stones in the game. You could always use the MissingNo. trick for more but this will help if you have already used them all up or want to keep your hall of fame in tact.

u wrong with me missigno all u have to do is place the item u want to duplicate and the 6th place in ur bag! after when u see MissingNo DO NOT fight him and try to catch him! just run away! and ur item will be duplicated!

@garchompelago To have multiple NidoKings and Nidoqueens? I myself have 2 nidoking 1 nidoqueen and a Clefable on my Leaf Green version where you only get 4 stones

It's a bit ironic that one of the Pokémon is something that evolved with a stone, and the other requires one. We're just lucky Exeggutor wasn't equivalent to the Leaf Stone.
