Another moment in bike messenger life - Washington, DC

Another snippit of a day in the work as a courier. The mundane continues but has interjections of humor and humble lessons The footage starts at 941 North Capitol St NE, Washington, DC, and has a hilarious surprise ending heading into the loading dock of 1299 Pennsylvania Ave NW / 555 13th St NW. It begs the question that I asked Syd, "who is the rookie?"

Do you see the US Capitol as I head south on North Capitol? Its interesting how most people will only see pictures or video of the dome where I used to bike around it everyday.

If you notice one part on E St NW when I move over to the left side of the truck you see my hand shoot out. Yes, I used the momentum of the truck to push myself forward. I can't claim it as skitching because it was only a hot second and the truck began going slower than me. I don't think I have any good footage of skitching but I think one guy missed it by a few seconds during Monstertrack 2006 (?)

@meredithbegin ha, try the trolly tracks in philly. they paved over a lot of the ones that are out of use maybe a decade ago but missed a few spots. had a good fall in the rain last week right in front of a bus stop full of people. lol. and it was right after I called it a day too. sssslipp "ahh... fuck." cajunk, sssssss.

@F44876 I have. Rocky races, April Fools races, House Party Cat 3 and 4. I could see how paving over them then the missed spots or the potholes that are created after a few seasons would be a problem. The tracks suck too but at least you know to look out for them.

Is it fun to be a bike messenger in WA-DC?

I´m a mechanic helper and I do some bike deliveries for my job,

here in Curitiba-Brazil.

This is a wonderful city to ride a bike. Some hills sucks and the chilly/rainny weather sometimes is a pain in the ass, but I love riding my bike here.

Are messenger's on a time frame, in delivering packages. And do messenger's get to pick there own hours.
