My eeepc running on ubuntu 7.10 custom install. with compiz fusion... where vi$ta is not!

Buy one with the Linux install. It'll be cheaper if you don't want to use XP.

Im triying to rebuild a PC, with similar specs, and i see ubuntu works!

@RipperLord it Works Perfect with my pc900 in both ubuntu 9.04 and 9.10 i got
20Mb internet and speed test shows me 16mb (30-40m away from router) on my eee. and thats the minimum, if i am 20m away from the router then i got 17-18mb :D
and ubuntu is so easy to install from an USB pen. ;)

Puppy Linux is faster and smaller. It runs out of the box with Wifi on eeePC. It also conserves the SSD better.

yes, wifi does work. atheros got a "mad wifi driver" release.

Telek, i agree with linux witch get the linux version and format it to your desired distro. or you want to play more. install mac osx. there are a lot of distro tuned for eee 1000H :) Cheers!
