This is Citizen Soldier by 3 Doors Down. It is about the men and women all over America, ready at a moments notice to go to fighting to preserve our freedom! Freedom is never free, let's remember whose paying for it!!

  • Thanks "hannahgracewillbe"!

  • TheHarleygirl2010,

Thank you! I signed "power of death" instead of "dark of despair." In ESL a "p" is used, but I learned to use the whole hand in ASL.

  • Nope, I was not involved in the USAF, USMC or the US Army. Though, it was my goal to look like I was, so thank you!!! I made this song to be performed on the Forth of July, 2009, for everyone who has ever fought for our country.

  • Yeah, I use both English and ASL in my signing. In speech I've been trying to stick to ASL, but for these songs I use both depending on whichever one looks the best for that particular word. What do you mean by "glossing it" btw?

  • I know right! I'd love to show you guys! When we get back from the Tour I'll go over it in more detail...

  • This was BEAUTIFUL. Great work :)

  • Dude this is amazing! Is there any way you can break it down in a video or something? I am trying to learn ASL and I love 3 doors down soI figured learning songs would help me :) Great job!! and thanks again! I also love what you wrote "Freedom is never free, let's remember whose paying for it!"

  • That was the first time for me to hear the song and you did really well. What was the sign you used for dark right before death? I have never seen that sign before. That was amazing.

  • you must have been in the air force, or marines (fag corp) or maybe army?

  • In a word... (finger spells the word "epic!")

  • Singing the song word for word is perfect. Let the deaf get their own meaning, just like we get our own meanings. Great job!

  • YOU ARE INCREDIBLE.
