I agree that Knoebels carousel is the best in the US, and not just because I work there. What you have to remember is that a galloper and carousel at least in most cases travels from place to place and has to be able to come togeather and be taken apart quickly. Where as the typical american carousel is ussually a permanant installation. The design and acritectual traditions are also very different.

A carousel (As found in the US) to be correct goes round the other way. They are also found in France! The generic name for both would be a Roundabout.
