with the benefit of hindsight one must say that it was a mistake of arafat to accept the jewish occupation of palestine in 1993. his offert some years earlier according to which jews born in palestine before 1917 (and their descendants) may stay in palestine was already very generous given the fact that the organized jewish mass immigration to palestine began in the 1880s.
