@celticcornish ---- spot on. They had to sit up and take notice of us though back in 1991 for all of us who can remember Twickenham and a sea of Black and Gold....
@fletch2002 It's okay if he doesn't understand... the empire 'mentality' clouds one's ability to comprehend boundaries, ethics, dignity, respect, honour, culture/ethnicity etc......... Attempting to teach children of the 'empire' respect for history/race/culture must be as difficult as trying to take a hooker out on a romantic date.
The children in Cornwall are now being taught this as part of their Cornish language training:
Kernow yw konna tyr orth penn Breten Veur. Kernow yw bro geltek ha Kernewek agan yeth.
I don't know of many 'counties' with their own language but since the Sawsnecks here know so much, perhaps they would care to translate what I have written. After all, 8 year olds can in our schools.
The English should listen to one of their own, William Camden 1607:-
"As for those Cornwallians...they stoutly bent all their force together in defence of their Countrey".
On behalf of all the Cornish, we rest our case.
