Kili my Senegal Parrot and Duke the Budgerigar take turns coming down the wood slide that I built specially for them. The birds go up the ladder and then slide down the slide. It is not that difficult of a trick to teach your bird. Half the job is finding a slide to buy or building your own.

Senegal Parrots come from Africa and are in the Poicephalus Genus. These parrots feature a dark head and green body. Eyes become bright yellow upon reaching maturity.

Budgerigars are ground feeding parakeets that come from Australia. They are the only member of the genus Melopsittacus. People mistakenly call them parakeets and while they are one type of parakeet, there are hundreds of other types as well. Budgies have become very popular pets but are grossly under rated and under appreciated. They are very capable learners and can easily be taught cool tricks.

This video shows you all of the tricks we taught the budgie for under 2 months we've had him:

  • YOU USE THE CLICKER ON YOUR PARROT?? thats so interesting to know that its used on other species besides canines!

  • @simbafreak Don't know why this is astonishing. Clicker training has been applied to all sorts of species of animals. And parrots are far more intelligent/capable than dogs so it shouldn't be surprising at all.

  • Where do you get bird slides? And were your two birds 'friends' before duke past away? ( r.i.p Duke )

  • @RandomJinxx I make the slides. They aren't listed on my website for sale yet but I can give you a custom price for any sized parrot slide and a choice of colors. Just PM me if you're interested or contact through the parrot wizard website.

  • where did u get the slide from?

  • @lemmetakedisstr8 I made it myself. You want one? Right now I'm working on an updated design that folds for easy storage and it will be on sale on my training supplies website soon.

  • I don`t speak inglish, I speak Português, but I need to try to say that your bird is spectacular,

Tão bonitinho, eu tenho uma Calopsita (Coktail, I don`t know if it`s correct) and she is very smart and special too.

  • your bird is so smart, i love it

  • @simbafreak i think the clicker would be good for humans too, if you gave them money instead of treets :))

  • awwww I love this little bird ♥ :3

  • My bird would just sit there and look at me, then start eating that slide -_- You have clever birds! :)

  • how learnt faster?

  • @simbafreak Clicker training was actually first used on dolphins. It works much better with animals that need to be "asked" instead of "told".

  • I want a slide! Please email me with ordering info- thanks!:) moxieriot@yahoo.com---- cool video btw!!!
