  • Great Day! How close were you? That looks plain scarey!

  • I'm not trying to sound like a know it all, I am just speaking from experience. I have worked on this railroad, and have seen first hand their crappy track and maintainence.

  • @joha77johaa Bull crap. Germany is not perfect. sorry to tell you. they have their share of bad rails. get off your high horse.

  • @38Squid Actually the 10 MPH is due to the location, not the condition of the track. But being the know it all you are. I am sure you knew that. You probably also knew that CSX is one of the safest rail lines in the country. Since I am sure you have done all your research before you made such a immature comment, you know that they have the least amount of damaging derailments in the U.S. Damaging = not little ones like the wheel just jumps off and they simply roll it back onto the track.

  • @g60rave Yep, has prob been there for hundreds of years and just now (then 2006) started falling apart. Unlike the crap made over seas that last 3 months and falls apart.

  • That is scary as hell

  • this is one HELL of a scary situation, granted the rail is not very high speed but if you stop the video at 42 seconds (the 1st lumber flat) you can actually SEE THE BOTTOM OF THE RAIL EXPOSED IN MID AIR!!!! this tells me that portion is not even spiked down which WILL result in a derailment eventually...... if it were me recording this I'd take it to the crew or to a terminal (yard) and show someone... that is one dangerous situation.

  • It needs some thermite

  • i put in my time with the rail road. laying steel down the entire south central lines on the katy then the union pacific. them joints of rail are a thing of the passed almost now. they have been replaced with what we call ribbon rail. a quarter of a mile long then welded no joints. then x-rayed. the gauge is 133 gauge and its a lot taller than that 39 foot of rail. you still see some of that used in old lines and yards. but believe it or not ive seen worse in my day. lol write me anytime fellows

  • I sure hope this is fixed by now...
