I do not know what you mean by "pleasure." While you are amusing I don't take much pleasure in you. As for assholes, for most normal people their pleasure potential is rather limited. They are certainly highly usefull little things. Usefull for their true purpose. You can ask anothr famous atheist, Fidel Castro, about this, it is very difficult to get through life w/o one.

If you attribute any good design to god then you must attribute all the bad designs to him too. By your logic things like ebola, anthrax, crack cocaine, nuclear weapons are all designed by god.

Life is complex, the role of each organism & life form has a role in the over all reality of life. Drugs like caffeine or nicotine in plants probably evolved to protect plants from being eaten to excess by insects. Similar w/ the hot chemical in chilis. Cocaine probably had a similar roll in the coca plant. All microbes have a roll in the circle of life. If a nuclear bomb were used to deflect an asteroid from striking the Earth, I sure even you would thank God for it. Nothing in itself is evil.

that's piss poor logic mate. the idea that theism is correct because billions of people believe it, is foolish. Partly because no religion is believed by 50% or more of the world. The most widely believed is Christianity, which is somewhere around 40% of the population. Considering that nearly every major religion believes all other religions are wrong (Excluding intelligible religions such as Buddhism and few others), your own twisted logic would say that no religion is right...
