  • Seeing this again reminds me why I used to love ice dancing so much.

  • To me, it is this program that really makes this team a WOW team. That and their Nagano FD. This was stunning - O could watch them stroke for hours. I love modern ice dance (Virtue/Moir are one of my all time favourites) but this is definitely sublime.

  • Superior to any ice dance team I've seen since their retirement.

  • @steps1 I personally pick T&D over G&P but just a few points.

-94 was not really T&D 10 years too old. They were in their mid 30s, most dance teams compete until atleast their early 30s. They stunned most people by turning pro in only their mid 20s.

-G&P started their primes in 1995. They were still developing in 94 as show by their never having beaten a non legendary team like Usova & Zhulin before that season (and might not have that season too had U&Z not had their marital problems).

  • @italianjen29 Bourne and Kraatz.......... In my opinion I think many namy times second to none!!!!

  • @steps1 i mean t/d finished 1st overall because they received more second place ordinals than usova/zhulin.

  • @steps1 yeah they did beat g/p at euros in 1994 but that was as much because of the convoluted judging system of the time as it was about what actually happened on the ice. g/p beat them in the free dance at euros but finished 1st overall because they had more second place ordinals that usova/zhulin.

  • @steps1 Well what about Bourne and Kraatz? They were pretty amazing too, and they broke out of the typical style of skating in Ice Dancing and came out with more progressive routines.... they even used Trance as one style of music for one of their programs! I loved it! The unfortunate thing with Bourne and Kraatz however, was that they were always so unfairly judged. I don't know if they were the best of their time, but they certianly deserved better than what they got.

  • Torvill and Dean weren't good in their time..they were perfection! And if I remember correctly they beat Grischuk and Platov at the Europeans..in THEIR time!! 10 years away from the sport..win the Europeans..Bronze at the Olympics and there are plenty of people who query that decision..Torvill and Dean broke out of the sport into the conscience of the general public..we'll never see their like again!

  • @steps1 Torvill and Dean were good...... in their time. If they did their Bolero program in competition against this however, they wouldn't even come close. And, the music in this program is incredible, even more trance like than Torvill and Dean's Bolero. Of course skating is only going to keep progressing over the years, so it's understandable that Torvill and Dean's programs wouldn't hold-up against some programs now.
